XLII Chilean Congress of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Renal Transplantation: Research Contributions from the Renal Pathophysiology Laboratory
Renal Pathophysiology Laboratory participated in the XLII Chilean Congress of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Renal Transplantation
Between November 26 and 29, 2025, the XLII Chilean Congress of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Renal Transplantation was held at the Sheraton Miramar Hotel, organized by the Chilean Society of Nephrology (SOCHINEFRO).
As a team from the Renal Pathophysiology Laboratory, we had the honor of actively participating in this important scientific event.
This year’s program addressed topics of great interest to the nephrology community, including advances in the management of electrolyte and acid–base disorders, acute kidney injury in critically ill patients, continuous renal replacement therapies, clinical ultrasound applied to nephrology, glomerular diseases, progression of chronic kidney disease, hypertension in complex scenarios, dialysis therapies, renal transplantation and donation, genetics applied to hereditary nephropathies, as well as contemporary models of integrative care in nephrology.
This multidisciplinary approach allowed for the updating of clinical knowledge, a deeper understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms, and the exchange of experiences in basic, translational, and clinical research.
During the congress, members of the Renal Pathophysiology Laboratory presented advances from their research in various formats:
Magdalena Castro, a candidate in the PhD Program in Chronic Diseases, presented her poster titled “Evolution and Impact of Cardiovascular Risk Factors Associated with the Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease in the Cardiovascular Health Program.”
Javier Reyes, a PhD student in the same program, had the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation of his work: “Dendritic cells are necessary for renal fibrosis in the Nx5/6 model and exhibit a profibrotic transcriptional profile in the UUO model.” The presentation was delivered by Dr. Cristian Amador, principal investigator of our laboratory.
We are deeply proud of these achievements, which reflect the effort, dedication, and commitment of our team.
The Renal Pathophysiology Laboratory expresses its sincere gratitude to the Chilean Society of Nephrology for organizing the event and for the opportunity to participate in this edition of the congress. Events such as this are essential for fostering the development of new knowledge, sharing experiences, establishing collaborative networks, and promoting scientific advances that contribute to improving nephrological care in our country.
