Doctoral Student Javier Reyes Presented His Research at APS Summit 2026 and Was Named a Finalist for the APS W.E.H. Leonard Share Predoctoral Research Award
We are proud to congratulate Javier Reyes Osorio, a doctoral student in the PhD Program in Chronic Diseases at Universidad San Sebastián and a member of our research group, for his outstanding participation in the APS Summit 2026, organized by the American Physiological Society (APS) and held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
During the meeting, Javier presented his research entitled "Dendritic Cells Have a Pro-fibrotic Transcriptional Profile in UUO and Contribute to Renal Fibrosis in Nx5/6" in both poster and oral presentation formats. His work highlights the contribution of dendritic cells to the development of renal fibrosis, providing new insights into the cellular mechanisms underlying chronic kidney disease.
A major highlight of Javier's participation was his selection as a finalist for the APS W.E.H. Leonard Share Predoctoral Research Award, one of the American Physiological Society's most prestigious honors for doctoral trainees conducting outstanding physiological research.
As part of this recognition, Javier was invited to deliver an oral presentation during the APS Summit 2026 Awards Session, where finalists presented their research before an audience of leading scientists and a distinguished panel of judges.
