4th Symposium in Nephrology and Kidney Pathophysiology – FOVI-ANID Project #240189

Bringing together leading national and international researchers, the 4th Symposium in Nephrology and Kidney Pathophysiology showcased the latest advances in kidney research. A major highlight of the event was the participation of Dr. Carmen de Miguel, Associate Professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (USA), as the symposium's distinguished guest speaker, alongside presentations of award-winning research recognized by leading Chilean scientific societies.

On December 2, 2025, the 4th Symposium in Nephrology and Kidney Pathophysiology was held as part of FOVI-ANID Project No. 240189. The symposium brought together researchers, faculty members, healthcare professionals, and students, providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the dissemination of cutting-edge basic, clinical, and translational research in nephrology and kidney pathophysiology.

A special highlight of this year's symposium was the participation of Dr. Carmen de Miguel, Associate Professor at the Heersink School of Medicine, The University of Alabama at Birmingham (USA), as the distinguished invited speaker. Internationally recognized for her research on kidney disease associated with diabetes and obesity, Dr. de Miguel delivered the keynote lecture entitled "The ET-1/ETA Axis in Immune Cells and Its Role in Kidney Disease Associated with Diabetes and Obesity." Her presentation showcased the latest advances in the field and fostered valuable scientific discussion, further strengthening the international collaborations promoted through the FOVI-ANID Project.
